Setup

• Typically 2 players, but some platforms allow up to 4.
• Each player starts with 7 letter tiles.
• The game board is a 15x15 grid with special bonus squares.

Scrabble: Rules

1. Starting the Game:
   • The first player must place a word that covers the center square (Double Word Score, DW).
   • Each word must connect to at least one existing word on the board.
2. Forming Words:
   • Words can be formed horizontally or vertically.
   • All tiles in a word must be placed in a single turn, with no gaps.
   • New words must be valid according to the game's dictionary.
3. Bonus Squares:
   • DW (Double Word Score): Doubles the total score of the word that covers this square.
   • TW (Triple Word Score): Triples the total score of the word that covers this square.
   • DL (Double Letter Score): Doubles the point value of the tile placed on this square.
   • TL (Triple Letter Score): Triples the point value of the tile placed on this square.
4. Scoring:
   • Each tile has a point value; add these up to get the word's score.
   • Use bonus squares (DW, TW, DL, TL) to multiply points.
   • If a player uses all 7 tiles in one turn, they receive a 50-point bonus (Bingo).
5. Turns and Tile Exchange:
   • Players take turns forming words.
   • If you can't make a word, you can exchange tiles or pass your turn.
6. Ending the Game:
   • The game ends when all tiles are used or players cannot form any more words.
   • Final scores are adjusted by adding the opponent’s unplayed tiles to the current player's score and subtracting the current player's unplayed tiles.

Winning

The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

How to win the game?

To start the game effectively, aim to place a high-scoring word that covers the center square and leverages any Double Letter (DL) or Triple Letter (TL) bonuses. To have a more than 50% more chance to win, focus on maximizing points by using high-value tiles on bonus squares, creating multiple words in a single turn, and strategically blocking your opponent from accessing premium spaces.
