Squardle is a daily word puzzle on a grid of letters. Link neighbouring tiles, across, down or diagonally, to spell words of 4 letters or more, and try to find every word hidden in the grid. One long word runs through the whole puzzle: that is the word of the day.

How to play

Drag across the letters to spell a word, or tap them one by one and tap the last letter again to submit. On a computer you can also type the word.
Each tile can be used only once in a word, but as often as you like in different words.
Words need at least 4 letters. The list on the right shows how many words of each length are still hidden.
Rare words that are not on the list still count as bonus words.

Hints that help without spoiling

Once you have found 40% of the words, small numbers appear on the tiles: how many words you still need start on that letter. A tile that is no longer part of any missing word fades out, so you can stop looking there. Still stuck? The Hint button shows the first two letters and the length of a word you have not found.

Daily puzzle and Unlimited

The daily grid is the same for everyone and changes at midnight: 4 × 4 from Monday to Thursday, a bigger 5 × 5 from Friday to Sunday. Your progress is saved, so you can come back to it later in the day, and solving puzzles on consecutive days builds a streak. Want more? Switch to Unlimited for a new grid whenever you like, in either size.

Tips

Look for common endings first: -ED, -ER, -ING and -S turn one word into several.
Found a long word? Its letters usually make shorter words too: a grid with INSULATED will often hide SLATE, SALTED and DEALT.
