Three levels, from first readers to adults

Easy: 8 words in a 10 × 10 grid, running only across and down. Good for children who are just learning to read.
Medium: 10 words in a 12 × 12 grid, now also diagonal.
Hard: 12 words in a 14 × 14 grid, hidden in every direction, even backwards.

Print it for a party or a class

The Print button puts the puzzle on a clean page with the word list, ready for a Halloween party table, a classroom activity or a quiet evening. The answer key prints on its own page, so the solutions can stay with the grown-ups.

How to find the words

Pick a word from the list, find its first letter in the grid and drag across to the last letter. On a phone you can also tap the first letter and then the last one. Found words are crossed off, and the timer shows how fast you finished.

Tip: hunt for the rare letters first. Words with Z, K, W or Y, like ZOMBIE, SKULL, WITCH or SPOOKY, stand out much faster than words full of E and A.
