These are crossword games made for a quick break rather than a Sunday newspaper. Most give you a handful of letters and an empty grid: connect the letters into words, and every correct word drops into place, crossing the ones you have already found.

Start with Wordscape Daily or Word Cookies if you like the swipe-to-spell style. Word Pyramid gives you a clue for every answer, and in Waffle the grid is already full: swap the letters until every row and column is a word.
